Christopher D. McKinney currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Innovation Commercialization at Augusta University.  In this role, Dr. McKinney leads the innovation commercialization and bio-business incubation for the institution.  Dr. McKinney has served on several dozen for-profit and non-profit boards from startups to $500M firms.


In addition to innovation commercialization activities, Dr. McKinney is an active educator.  Since 1989, he has taught forty graduate and undergraduate courses, including classes on such topics as: technology assessment and forecasting, technology-based entrepreneurship, managing technological change, economic development, American government, political science research methods, introduction to sociology, and applied public management.


Dr. McKinney holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from Willamette University, an MBA from Oregon State University, and a doctorate in political science from Idaho State University.  His doctoral majors are in public administration, political theory, and American government with doctoral minors in sociology and economics.
