Katie Cashman serves as the Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Georgia Bio. In her role, Katie works to strengthen the biotech and MedTech ecosystem through early-stage business acceleration, program development, and precision partnering opportunities.


Katie is responsible for developing and enhancing organizational programs and infrastructure enabling Georgia Bio to effectively fulfill its mission and engage with members and partners across the community. Key programming that Katie is charged with focuses on entrepreneurship initiatives connecting life science startups to resources needed to help them scale their ventures. She also serves as the liaison for many of Georgia Bio’s committees and networks to ensure strong and strategic partnerships.

 

Raised in Georgia and a graduate of Blessed Trinity. Katie has over a decade of experience in health tech and biotech. She has founded two companies and played a pivotal role in helping startups collectively raise over $100 million, with a focus on scalable healthcare solutions, wearables, and wellness initiatives. Katie has had the opportunity to work in and around notable organizations such as GCMI and ADTC.

 

Katie’s expertise in product development and business strategy, along with her patents in respiratory health and predictive technology, will be key in driving innovation at Georgia Bio. Her work spans AI, machine learning, and operational optimization, all with a focus on data-centric healthcare and biotech. Her leadership will help shape the continued growth and success of Georgia’s life sciences community.

 

Katie received her B.S. in in Business Administration from Purdue University; and has been accepted into Vanderbilt University’s Executive MBA program.

 

In her free time, Katie mentors’ women in startups. She enjoys traveling, exploring new places, trying new restaurants, practicing yoga, and being active outdoors near any large body of water with her husband Chris and their dog Koda.
